Protagonist

Alditama (Aldi) Prihadi

Co-Founder & Business Partner

Co-Founder of Dartstudio and Director of Prihaditama Consulting — a Geosciences consultancy he has run since 2010. Aldi brings something rare to a technical studio: business sense proven by time, not by decks.

Background

Aldi's long collaboration with Gaffy and Pahlawanto started long before Dartstudio. Since 2015, they had been working together on separate projects — Aldi from the business and consultant side, the other two from engineering and design. Eleven years of that kind of informal collaboration eventually became the reason why, this year, Dartstudio formally came into being.

Aldi is not a software engineer. He brings something different to the table: 16 years of experience running his own consulting firm in a completely different field — Geosciences.

Aldi started his academic career at ITB: B.S. in Oceanography in 2005, Chairman of HMGM (Geophysics and Meteorology Student Association) in his second year, then a master's in Geological/Geophysical Engineering at the same campus. In 2007, still in college, he started as Project Engineer at PT. LAPI ITB — working on Hydro-Oceanography Survey. Work he still does today, 18 years later, as a freelance continuation.

In 2010, Aldi founded PT. Prihaditama Geosciences and Oceanography Consulting. He started as a Junior Oceanographer at his own company — not immediately as the Director signing proposals. Others might consider that a contradiction; Aldi considered it a requirement: if you want to lead a Geosciences consulting firm, you must have been the person holding survey equipment on ships, in fields, in mud.

Since 2010, as Director, Aldi has led more than 120 Geosciences projects across Indonesia — Geophysics, Oceanography, Geotechnics, Geodesy. From geotechnical investigation for infrastructure foundations, to marine magnetic surveys, to 2D hydrodynamic modeling for coastal design. A wide range, with one consistent standard: solid subsurface data that reduces client project risk — not thick reports that end up on shelves.

In 2024, Aldi also became a remote Geophysicist for GEOxyz Belgium, working on Marine Magnetic Data Processor for the Eastern Green Link Project in the UK. A cross-continent project that shows one thing: his expertise is recognized outside Indonesia, in markets with standards that aren't cheap to earn.

Aldi doesn't write code. But he does something no less important for Dartstudio: he is living proof of the principles we hold.

We often write in the journal about systems designed to live in production, not to be impressive in slides. Aldi has spent 16 years running a small company that is exactly that: running in the real market, not needing to scale headcount to stay relevant, and continuing to grow. The Prihaditama Consulting website — which the Dartstudio team redesigned the SEO with him back in 2020 (five years before the studio formally came into being) — to this day continues to generate clients from organic search, because every technical decision was factored in from day one.

At Dartstudio, Aldi is Co-Founder & Business Partner. He maintains operational sanity from a side often invisible to technical teams: how a small studio stays viable, how to measure trade-offs between focus and opportunity, how to say "no" to engagements that don't fit without losing good opportunities later.
