Senior Full-Stack Engineer Pegiat

Senior full-stack engineer with 10+ years of mileage and 30+ products shipped to production — from international transfer payment platforms to city PPDB systems serving 200,000+ users. The kind of engineer who has seen systems break in production, and knows what to fix before it happens.

Background

Sheila started her professional career in 2015 — while still graduating from SMKN 1 Cimahi majoring in Software Engineering — as a Programmer at PT Informatika Reka Mandiri. Her first job wasn’t for an ordinary startup or corporate: she worked on applications for government clients, including Bumdes (Ministry of Villages) and AwakKapal (Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries). Public sector engineering early in her career taught a discipline often missing in other environments: that systems used for regulation and public services have no margin for shortcuts.

In parallel with full-time work, Sheila also started taking on freelance projects — which she continues to this day, 10+ years later, with 30+ products shipped to production across 7 industries: education, fintech, government, legal, investment, e-commerce, and non-profit. Not the “code whatever” pattern — looking at each project, each has substance: APIs for Geenet Singapore (international client), traffic sign inventory with lat-long coordinates for Dishub KBB, payment integration for SINDIKASI with Xendit & Midtrans, and others.

In 2017-2018, Sheila joined PT Crowde Membangun Bangsa — she had even helped build its first version a year earlier at PT Mitra Media Aplikasi (SHIFT). Crowde is an investment platform for agriculture startups, with a tiered risk-profit financing model designed to reduce farmers' dependence on loan sharks. One of her first projects with concrete social impact, and it shaped Sheila's understanding that good engineering isn't about “cool tech stack” — it’s about systems that can connect funders with recipients with integrity.

The 2019-2021 period was a significant expansion phase. Sheila worked on multiple parallel projects: legal firm automation at PT Lexar Karya Progresif (PT & HAKI registration with automated document generation), full-stack development at Lingkaran Education with Vue.js + Yii, backend for BRIMo at Wunderman Thompson, and international client at Threefold Web Development (Geenet Singapore). Her stack range also broadened in this period — not just Laravel, but Vue, Lumen, Yii, Ruby on Rails, and others, as projects required.

In July 2020, Sheila took a different step: she became **Engineer Manager** at PT Satu Visi Kreasi Indonesia, managing a team of 10 engineers for SIMAK — an academic system with integrated payment gateway used by 100+ schools. For the first time, she didn’t just write code — she also bridged communication between the engineering team and C-level executives to prioritize initiatives. A year in this position was enough to understand one thing: engineering judgment without good communication is engineering that will miscommunicate with business decision-makers, and that’s a loss for all parties.

In parallel with SIMAK, Sheila also became **Labs Mentor at RevoU** (2022-2023), training students on agile workflows and stakeholder communication. Teaching is one of the best ways to articulate what you already master intuitively — a discipline she carries into every subsequent engagement.

In January 2022, Sheila joined **Flip.id** as a Backend Engineer — a 3-year period that most shaped her understanding of payment platforms at scale. She rotated across multiple critical teams: Consumer App, Digital Product, and Domestic & International Transfer. Her stack combined PHP and Golang (for new microservices she also helped initiate). The tools she worked with daily were enterprise-grade: Datadog for observability, Amplitude for product analytics, Braze for customer engagement, Google Pub/Sub for async communication, Sonarcube for code quality. Integration with other teams — KYC, Fraud, Risk — was part of daily work, not special projects. At Flip.id, Sheila learned a lesson she carries with her: systems that handle real people’s money must be designed assuming worst-case, not happy-path. Postmortem, incident response, hotfix execution — those are craft, not checklists.

Since January 2026, Sheila has been at PT Mitra Berkat Digital & PT Lazio as Backend Engineer — working on tour & travel applications (Golden Rama, Anoman), real-time notification systems, and Zakat platforms (LAZ Core, Qurban). Her stack combines PHP/Laravel + Next.js + Filament + Firebase + Docker. A different product range from payment platforms, but the same discipline: scalability, reliability, maintainability.

In parallel with all that, Sheila also runs her self-published track: portfolio site at sheilaa.dev and blog at blog.sheilaa.dev. Not a branding move — it’s how she thinks out loud. A Pegiat with a body of work verifiable not only via LinkedIn, but via writing and code she maintains herself.

At Dartstudio, Sheila is a Pegiat Circle with specific expertise: senior full-stack engineering, especially for systems involving payment platforms or multi-team complexity. When Dartstudio engagements require complex backend capacity — particularly those involving financial transactions, microservices design, or legacy-to-modern architecture migration — Sheila is the person to call. Plus, with her engineer manager experience, she can also enter engagements that require bridging engineering decisions to C-level — which is usually a real client pain point.
